Hartley House

Hartley House

The Hartley House Project is Alison’s family home, located in Melbourne’s Inner North. An original Californian Bungalow that had seen one too many iterations in it’s lifetime, Alison set off to re-instate its period features while completing a modern renovation extension at its rear.

Once moody and monochromatic, an abundance of natural light, considered curves and textural tones now fill the expansive living spaces. A thoughtful balance of warm white, wood grain and natural stone complement the buttery tones of the cabinetry and polished marble.

“As an interior designer it’s always my aim to give spaces a new lease on life and it was no different for our home.” Soft green, a touch of burgandy and terazzo bring moments of interest while a glimpse of greenery brings movement to the now light and bright Californian Bungalow.
